Ilascom Cook

Ilascom Cook, a Black man, was held in custody at Sweet Home, Texas. The Evening Herald reported on June 12, 1894, that a mob took him from the officers holding him. According to the paper, the mob then hanged him.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A newspaper report datelined Sweet Home, Texas, says a mob took Ilascom Cook from officers and hanged him.
