Idris Gallardo
Idris Gallardo, 23, was held at Lee Correctional Institution in Bishopville, South Carolina, when he died on September 17, 2024. According to the South Carolina Department of Corrections, he was stabbed in a common area of his housing unit and pronounced dead later that morning. The agency's Inspector General's office, the State Law Enforcement Division and the Lee County coroner are investigating the death as a suspected homicide, and an autopsy was planned. The corrections department said it had not named a suspect as of the next morning.
