Huston Bond
Huston Bond, 32, of Gary, died in his cell at the Lake County Jail in Crown Point, where he was being held before trial. According to Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr., he was found unresponsive on the morning of Sunday, October 27, 2024. His attorney said he was a heart transplant patient who took about 30 medications a day and regularly went to a hospital to maintain his heart function, and alleged that jail staff were not giving him his medications. The cause of death is under investigation by the sheriff's detective bureau and the coroner's office.
