Huston Bond
Huston Bond, 32, of Gary, was a heart transplant patient who took about 30 medications a day and regularly went to the hospital to maintain his heart function, according to his defense attorney. He died in his cell at the Lake County Jail in Crown Point, Indiana, in October 2024, where he was being held before trial; the sheriff's office said he was found unresponsive early on a Sunday morning. His attorney said before his death that jail staff were not giving him his heart medications and that he needed care.
