Hollie Grote, 41, died in October 2021 while held at the Pike County Jail in Missouri. Her family says she repeatedly asked for medical care for headaches, vision loss and spells of feeling faint, including in messages she wrote on a jail kiosk, and her daughter Shainey Harpole and sister Ashley Lovelace have spoken publicly about her. A medical examiner ruled that increased pressure on her brain, caused by a benign tumor, was the cause of death. Her family's attorney says surveillance video from her final hour is missing, and a civil trial is set for the spring.
