Hillary Page

Hillary Page told visitors that he had made his peace with his Maker, and a New York Herald account describes him as composed and resigned in his final hours. That morning he was moved under guard from a Henrico County jail to the Chesterfield County jail. He was taken to the gallows at about 12:30 p.m. on September 1, 1876, at the Chesterfield Court House in Virginia, and was executed by strangulation. A clergyman spoke at the scaffold.
