Hill Cotes

Doe Run

Hill Cotes was held in the jail at Doe Run. A mob took him from the jail and shot him to death, according to a report in the Carlsbad Current on August 25, 1900. The report says he was shot many times.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A short newspaper item says Hill Cotes was taken from the jail at Doe Run and shot to death.
