Herve Jeannot
Herve Jeannot, 30, of Deer Park, was found hanging from a bed sheet in his cell at the Nassau County Jail in East Meadow late on a Tuesday night in October 2010, according to Homicide Squad commander Detective Lt. John Azzata, who said the death was a suicide. Police said he left a note with no confession, though a second report gives his age as 29 and says he was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight. His defense lawyer, William Petrillo, described him as a respectful, kind man who was well-liked by many, and said the note was very personal to his mother. The county medical examiner was to determine the official cause of death.
