Henry Smith

Henry Smith, a Black man, was being held at the jail in Medville, Georgia. According to a short telegraphic dispatch in The Portland Daily Press of April 29, 1874, a mob took him from the jail and shot him.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A short telegraphic report says a mob shot Henry Smith after taking him from a jail in Medville, Georgia.
