Henry Simmons
Henry Simmons, 60, of Joshua Tree, was found dead in his cell at the Morongo Basin jail on the evening of September 29, 2017, according to the San Bernardino Sun. The Riverside County Coroner's Office performed an autopsy, and its results were pending when the article was published. A separate ABC7 Los Angeles report from May 2019 names him among several people who died in San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department custody, and says his family joined a protest outside the Morongo Basin Jail and planned to sue. That account gives no details of how he died.
