Hellmuth Kolb, 85, was originally from Austria. He was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail in August 2022 and taken to Halifax Health Medical Center for a medical issue, where he died on September 22, 2022. A Volusia County spokesman said the Volusia Sheriff's Office is conducting a routine death investigation. His attorney said he had been hospitalized earlier after his arrest and then returned to the jail.
