Helen Dykes
Helen Dykes, 48, died at the Okeechobee County Detention Facility in Florida on July 30, 2023, two days after she was booked there while awaiting court proceedings. The Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office said detention deputies found her in severe distress from an apparent suicide attempt. The sheriff's office said the manner and cause of death remain pending with the medical examiner, and the case is still open.
