Harvey Church

died March 3, 1922

Harvey Church was executed by hanging on Friday, March 3, 1922, shortly before 4 p.m. Coroner Peter Hoffman said he believed Church had been kept drugged for more than a month before his death. Church's parents objected to a postmortem examination of his body, and the coroner said they blocked it. Jail physicians disputed the drugging claim and attributed Church's condition to a long fast from food.

Cause of death, as reported: Executed by the state

Reported by: Coroner Peter Hoffman (medical examiner or coroner).
