Harley Strickland, 37, was found dead in her cell at the Robeson County Detention Center on the morning of Friday, June 25, 2021. According to the Robeson County Sheriff's Office, officers delivering breakfast found that she had not gotten out of bed to collect her plate. The sheriff's office said the cause of death is not yet known, and that the State Bureau of Investigation is investigating while the state medical examiner performs an autopsy. The manner of death has not been determined.
