Hamilton
Hamilton was held in the jail at Warren, Arkansas, in January 1887. According to a Little Rock dispatch in the Fort Worth Daily Gazette, a mob broke into the jail, took him out and lynched him, along with a man named Medbury. Early reports said the two men had been taken away by friends, but later news contradicted that account. Other papers reported that a party of masked men took Hamilton and another prisoner from the Warren jail and killed them on January 22, 1887.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A Little Rock dispatch says a mob raided the Warren, Arkansas jail, took Hamilton from it and lynched him, and that early reports wrongly said friends had taken the two men away.
