Haley

Haley was held in the Paulding County jail in Paulding, Ohio. On July 17, 1886, a mob of more than a hundred masked, armed men surrounded the jail and demanded the keys from Sheriff Parr, saying they meant to hang the man inside. The sheriff tried to talk with the crowd while a deputy tried to move Haley out through a side door, but the crowd saw this and seized him. The mob took him about a mile out of town and hanged him from a tree.
