Hakeem Williams
Hakeem Williams was assaulted by his cellmate at Valdosta State Prison in Valdosta, Georgia, on February 28, 2022, while he was held there. According to Georgia Department of Corrections documents, he was taken by ambulance toward South Georgia Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead later that day. A later Valdosta Daily Times report said he was not alert or conscious when the ambulance left the prison. Corrections documents classify his death as a homicide.
