Gui Fei Zhang
Gui Fei Zhang, 73, died by suicide at the California Institution for Women in San Bernardino County in February 2015. The California Coalition for Women Prisoners, an advocacy group, reported the death and said she had been released from suicide watch the day before. The group also said her death was one of four suicides at the women's prison in 18 months. The Orange County Register published the report in August 2015, and the account of the death comes from the advocacy group, not from prison officials.
