Gregory Powell
Gregory Powell, 79, died on August 12, 2012, at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, where he had been held for decades. The California Department of Corrections attributed his death to terminal prostate cancer. He had been denied parole 11 times, and in October 2011 a request for release on medical grounds was also refused.
