Gregory Larkin
Gregory Larkin, 41, died in late May 2015 while held at Florida State Prison in Bradford County. A mitigation specialist who worked on his case said his death came as a great shock to everyone who cared for him. Authorities told the Times-Union that he apparently killed himself in his cell, and the Florida Department of Corrections recorded the manner of death as suicide, while family members, speaking through a woman who helped with his case, said an autopsy found apparent asphyxiation. Prison officials declined to say whether he was on suicide watch, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigated, as it routinely does for state prison deaths. His family declined to comment, saying they were reeling from the manner of his death.
