Gregory A. Gubernot
Gregory A. Gubernot, 44, was held at the Eau Claire County Jail in Wisconsin awaiting trial. On Sunday, September 14, 2026, he was found unconscious in his cell after an apparent suicide attempt, and he died at Luther Hospital the next afternoon. Sheriff Ron Cramer said staff had seen no signs that he was suicidal, and the sheriff has asked the Dunn County Sheriff's Department and a state jail inspector to review jail policies and whether staff acted appropriately.
