Green was one of two men a mob took from the jail at Hastings, Nebraska, and hanged on April 5, 1883, according to the Daily Evening Bulletin of the following day. The report gives only his surname and says nothing about his age, family or work. It was a mob that took him from the jail where he was held and killed him.
