Glenn Witte Stickler
Glenn Witte Stickler, 66, was held at Johnston Correctional Institution in North Carolina when he died on January 10, 2021. Another person held at the prison found him unresponsive in his bunk. An autopsy ruled the death accidental, and toxicology detected a synthetic cannabinoid. In 2022 District Attorney Susan I. Doyle reviewed the State Bureau of Investigation report and declined to file charges, saying video evidence corroborated accounts that he had been smoking a synthetic cannabinoid and was given a lit piece of toilet paper.
