Gino Hagenkotter
Gino Hagenkotter, 34, was held at the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Facility and was working a detail in an orchard behind the facility when he left it on November 30, according to police. His body was found on Monday, December 11, 2023, in a warehouse on East Venango Street in Kensington, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner's Office and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health have said he died of an accidental drug overdose, though other reports said the cause was still under investigation. Police also said a broken vent and a pushed-out fan at the warehouse may suggest someone forced their way in, which leaves open questions about how he got there.
Cause of death, as reported: Died of an overdose. The Medical Examiner's Office ruled his death an accidental drug overdose, and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health also said he died of a drug overdose.
Reported by: Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office (medical examiner or coroner); Philadelphia Department of Public Health.
