Gilbert Zepeda
Gilbert Zepeda died on November 23, 2022, after being held at the Bexar County Detention Center in San Antonio. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said another man held in his cell attacked him in the afternoon while he slept. He was taken to a hospital, where he underwent brain surgery and died that night. An affidavit cited medical personnel in attributing his death to the assault, and prosecutors have charged the cellmate with murder.
