Died in prison
Gilbert R. Rubio
Gilbert R. Rubio was 55 years old. Guards found him unresponsive in his single-occupancy cell during a morning security check at San Quentin State Prison, where he was held, on June 16, 2016. Paramedics called to the prison pronounced him dead at 6:34 a.m., according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The department said the cause and manner of death are pending review by the Marin County Coroner.
