Gershun Freeman
Gershun Freeman, 33, died on October 5, 2022, while held at the Shelby County Jail at 201 Poplar in Memphis, Tennessee. His wife and father have been asking for answers about how he died and say they have struggled to get information from officials. Family said they were told only that he had been in a fight. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was called in at the request of the district attorney and was awaiting autopsy results. A later report said nine deputies had been charged in connection with a fatal beating at the jail.
