Gerhart Hanson
Gerhart Hanson, 35, died in the Grand Forks County Jail in North Dakota on June 9, 1974. According to Grand Forks County Sheriff Emmons Christopher, he had been admitted for detoxification the evening before. The night jailer found him in his cell at about 4 a.m. The sheriff said Gerhart hanged himself with his belt. His body was taken to Valley City, where his mother lived, for burial.
Cause of death, as reported: Died by suicide. Sheriff Emmons Christopher said Hanson hanged himself with his belt in his cell.
