Gerard Barnes Jr.
Gerard Barnes, 21, died on November 22, 2021, after being found unresponsive at the Alamance County Detention Center in Graham, North Carolina, shortly before 9 p.m. The sheriff's office says the official cause of death has not been determined and will come from the medical examiner, with the State Bureau of Investigation assisting. The jail's press release said that about an hour earlier another man held there had been found unresponsive and treated for an apparent overdose, but whether Barnes overdosed has not been confirmed.
