George Stark

George Stark was held in custody in Allen County, Kentucky, in July 1877. The Batesville Guard reported that a mob hanged him on the night of July 10, 1877. A special telegram to the Courier-Journal, printed in The Interior Journal, said the mob took him from the jail on Wednesday night, July 11, and hanged him. The two accounts differ on the date of his death.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A mob took George Stark from custody in Allen County, Kentucky, and hanged him, according to a special telegram to the Courier-Journal.
