George Smith

George Smith was hanged on February 3, 1881, in the jail yard at Williamsport, Pennsylvania, under a court sentence. He was executed on the same scaffold as Catharine Miller, before a courtyard crowded with onlookers. A 2017 account in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette reports that he spoke briefly from the gallows before the sentence was carried out.
