George Rose
George Rose was held in a jail in May 1894 when, according to two newspaper reports, a mob took him from the jail and killed him. One report places the killing at Spring City, Kansas, on Sunday, May 13, and says the mob hanged him. The other dates it to the night before its publication, which would be May 12 or 13, so the two accounts differ on the date.
