Executed
George R. Miller
George R. Miller was a farmer and miner from Acme, Texas, whose parents had emigrated from England, and a 2021 Lubbock Avalanche-Journal article says he could read and write. He was hanged on June 3, 1910, in Clarendon, Donley County, Texas, after his case had gone through the courts and his appeals had failed. The article describes his execution as the only legal hanging on the Texas Plains. His mother and other relatives pleaded for mercy at his trial.
