George Gregory Anderson Sr.
George Anderson died in April 2024 while held at the Sumter County Sheriff's Office Detention Center in Sumter, South Carolina. Staff found him unresponsive in his cell during morning bed checks, and he was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey hospital, where he was pronounced dead on April 3. The sheriff's office said he had an extensive medical history and had recently been released from a medical facility. The cause of death is pending an autopsy, and the State Law Enforcement Division is investigating.
