George Faircloth
George Faircloth, 61, was held at the Union County Detention Center in North Carolina from August 12, 2025. According to the Union County Sheriff's Office, he had several pre-existing conditions and was assigned to the jail's medical unit. The sheriff's office said he became unresponsive just before 4 a.m. on August 23, 2025, while staff were examining him, and that he was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The sheriff asked the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to conduct an independent investigation, and the cause and manner of death remain pending.
