George D. Taté
George D. Taté, 63, took part in testicular experiments at the University of Washington in the 1960s, which later led to a federal lawsuit and a 2000 settlement, though he never received a payment. His wife, Linda Sue Martin Taté, worked on the lawsuit and described the pain he suffered after the tests. He was found unresponsive in his cell at the Airway Heights Corrections Center early on March 18, 2009, and medics pronounced him dead about 25 minutes later. Prison officials said they did not believe his death was a suicide, while the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office listed the cause of death as unknown, with toxicology results still pending.
