Geoffrey Todd West
Geoffrey Todd West, 50, was executed by nitrogen hypoxia on September 25, 2025, at Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore, Alabama. Earlier in 2025 he was baptized into the Catholic Church, and his family and attorneys said he had come to understand the impact of his actions and sought forgiveness. People who grew up with him described him to the victim's son as a good person who had gotten off track. The victim's son, Will Berry, said he forgave West after the two exchanged letters, and he asked Governor Kay Ivey to halt the execution so they could meet. Ivey declined to grant clemency and cited security concerns about such a meeting.
