Gene Peterson
Gene Peterson, 67, of Readsboro, Vermont, was held at Southern State Correctional Facility. The Vermont Department of Corrections says he was taken to Springfield Hospital in April 2025, then transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire, where he moved to comfort care and died on April 24, 2025. The department says his death does not appear suspicious at this time and will be reviewed by its Corrections Investigative Unit and Health Services Division.
