Garrett Michael Peterson
Garrett Michael Peterson, 31, was a former Tempe police officer from Chandler. Tempe police said he had once been considered a good officer, praised by his supervisors for his initiative, and that he was survived by his mom and dad and his two sons. He was found dead in a cell at the Yuma County Adult Detention Center in Yuma, Arizona, early on a Monday morning in April 2014. Alfonso Zavala, a public information officer, said his cause of death was not immediately released, and Tempe police said they were heartbroken by his death.
