Frederick Milleiosa
Frederick Milleiosa was held in the county jail at Vicksburg, Mississippi. Around one o'clock on the morning of Monday, March 29, 1886, an armed mob took him from the jail and hanged him from a tree in front of the building, according to a New Orleans Times-Democrat special dispatch reprinted in The Grenada Sentinel, which says the mob battered the jail door down. Other papers of the period report the lynching briefly and give his name with variant spellings. None of the sources say whether jail officers resisted the mob, gave up the keys, or handed him over.
