Fred Sutherland
Fred Sutherland, 69, of Bridgeport, was found ill in his cell at the Wise County Jail on September 13, 2026, according to the sheriff's office. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, then transferred to a second hospital, where he died on September 15. The Wise County Sheriff's Office said the initial determination was natural causes. The sheriff's office, the Collin County Medical Examiner's Office and the Texas Rangers are investigating the death.
