Died in jail or a lockup
Franklin Lee
Franklin Lee, 58, died on December 5, 2014. During his arrest in Cairo he was pepper sprayed, and he was decontaminated before being placed in a holding cell at the Grady County Detention Center. About three hours later, a jailer found him unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at Grady General Hospital that night. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, investigating at the request of the Cairo Police Department, said the autopsy is pending and the manner and cause of death are not yet determined.
