Frank Ruiz, 47, was taken from a Dallas home after a 911 call about a shooting and was treated at a hospital before being taken to the Lew Sterrett jail. The Dallas Police Department said that during intake he was carried back to the booking line and became unresponsive, and that he was pronounced dead at a hospital after life-saving measures. The department said its Special Investigations Unit is still investigating, and the Dallas County District Attorney's Office was notified. No cause or manner of death has been determined.
