Frank McManus
Frank McManus, 26, was held in the jail at Minneapolis, Minnesota, on April 28, 1882, when a crowd of citizens broke in, took the sheriff prisoner and broke open cell doors until they found him. The mob took him from the jail and hanged him in front of the High School. Newspapers reported that the sheriff had refused to say where McManus was before the crowd found him.
