Frank Dodd
Frank Dodd was held in the DeWitt County jail in DeWitt, Arkansas, in October 1916. The Newark Journal reports that a mob of more than 300 men broke down the jail doors, overpowered the jailer, took the keys, and dragged him to a tree, where he was hanged. The Montgomery Advertiser says his body was riddled with bullets and left hanging for several hours before city officials took it down the next morning and turned it over to a local undertaker. The two accounts differ on the date, giving October 8 and early October 9.
