Frank Dayton

Frank Dayton was held at the Utah state penitentiary when he died on Friday evening, October 16, 1903, during a group attempt by men held there to break out. The Logan Republican reported that he was killed in a fight involving prison officers. The Coalville Times reported that guards opened fire as the men tried to scale the outer wall with a ladder. Another man held there rescued a guard, and some of the men in the attempt were recaptured.
