Floyd Frailer
Floyd Frailer was hanged in Whitesburg, the county seat of Letcher County, Kentucky, on Thursday, May 26, 1910, in what a newspaper account published the next day called a legal hanging. According to that account, he made a statement from the scaffold. The drop fell at about 1:30 in the afternoon, and he was pronounced dead eleven minutes later. The same account says about five thousand people watched the hanging.
