Everett Lynn Welch Sr.
Everett Lynn Welch Sr. was a pastor of Enon Baptist Church and a Grenada County School District bus driver, according to The Winona Times. Correctional officers found him dead in his cell at the Grenada County Adult Detention Center on May 27, 2026. The Grenada County Sheriff's Office and jail officials have not released a cause or manner of death, and the death is under investigation with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. Chief Deputy Ricky Williamson said officials had not said how he died, and the sheriff's office said foul play is not suspected.
