Evelina Heredia

23 years old · died October 2013 · Camden County Jail, Camden County

Evelina Heredia, 23, was a mother to a 6-year-old daughter, according to her mother, Carmen Feliciano, who said she was healthy when last seen on Oct. 3, 2013. Heredia died in the Camden County Jail that October. The Camden County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Jason Laughlin and Warden David Owens said toxicology tests showed toxic effects from a combination of prescription drugs, Tramadol, Doxepin and Cyclobenzaprine. Feliciano disputes that explanation, questions why her daughter was not taken to a nearby hospital after an earlier fainting spell, and says she plans to sue the county.

Authorities say toxicology showed toxic effects from a combination of prescription drugs, which she obtained from another inmate; her mother disputes that explanation, questions why she was not taken to a nearby hospital after an earlier fainting spell, and says she plans to sue the county.
