Euel Lee

62 years old · died November 3, 1933 · Maryland

Euel Lee was executed by hanging in Maryland early on the morning of November 3, 1933, after a series of last-minute appeals was denied. His attorneys from the International Labor Defense were barred from appearing before the federal court, and their petitions for writs of habeas corpus and certiorari were turned down. Governor Albert C. Ritchie had earlier declined to intervene. The Gary American reported these events, and the appeals were the objections it recorded to the execution.

Cause of death, as reported: Executed by the state
